Seeing that YouTube has been on the web for 10 years now, we here at BestFan wanted to take a look at some of the best talents that the video-sharing-site has spawned in the last decade.
Let’s start with the very popular Slow Mo Guys. They’re no viral hit or sensation, but they do crank out some awesome mind-bending videos that really make you think about how things work.
The English duo of Gavin Free and Daniel Gruchy perform experiments of certain things that the naked eye can’t see, then they slow it down so that we can. They’re able to do this by shooting their videos on high speed cameras called Phantom cameras. Basically, these cameras have a higher frame rate per second, making it very clear and fluent when slowed down.
Despite many of their videos being wacky and silly, there is a greater science behind it all that is explained in each episode, even the episode when Daniel fills a condom full of water over his head.
When not shooting in slow mo, Gavin works at the ever successful internet Goliath company called Rooster Teeth and their sister company Achievement Hunter, while Dan serves for the British army, and has actually done a few tours in Afghanistan.
